Theme of Scorpio Season: 0 – The Fool reversed
Main focus: XVII – The Star
Way Forward: III – The Empress

Happy Scorpio Season, Aries! Wow, what a Summer and early Fall, rife with changes, shifts, challenges, and — in your case especially — learning how to overcome. Truly, you have come through so much, but as a result, are in the place to set the boundaries you need to create further exciting shifts! You know exactly what I’m talking about, as a big part of the past few months was a conscious dismantling of your old structures (with uh, some exciting help from the Universe’s hand thrown in seemingly at random), and one way or another, you see the light and you’re barrelling down the tunnel.

Good work, yes yes, keep going, especially with the remaining “background work” before this starts to fly — this vigour is exactly what you need to blow out the last cobwebs from that past cycle, the fuel you need to blast the last pieces of the ceiling off what used to hold you back. Now that you’ve remembered how much power you always have over your circumstances (it felt so weird to feel disconnected from that), the path forward is clear. Keep charging if you know you’re not quite at full strength — the important thing is you know where you’re going; your vision is now clearer than ever <3<3

It’s time to take the full leap of faith, commit to “the Call.” You can’t ignore this creative impulse any longer, and more than you ever have (that saying a lot!!), you really want to take the time to nurture this, to care for it and give it the time and space it needs to grow to its fullest potential. You love it so much!! For you, this opportunity is Hope Defined. And so, Go For It — follow your heart, trust your gut, and allow your Self to be illuminated. This is a time of sudden and very healthy change — you put in the work and, so very soon, the floodgates will open bearing such cool results. <3<3

MERCURY IN SAGITTARIUS (30 Oct ~ 1 Dec) Mercury in Sagittarius supports visions of tomorrow by filling in all the details so the picture is the one that actually develops. Enthusiastic words, confident messages, and passionate debates often occur during this time. We must all remember to think before we speak and triple-check what we’re saying during this transit. Drop prejudices, but not reason. It’s imperative that we appreciate different points of view. We’re encouraged to broaden our minds and horizons, making this a great time to start thinking about taking a trip somewhere, going back to school, or starting a new job.

MERCURY RETROGRADE IN SAGITTARIUS / SCORPIO (16 Nov ~ 6 Dec)
Because everything is exaggerated under the sign of Sagittarius, the chaos could be even more frantic than usual. Let’s remember to keep a sense of humour when things do go awry. We’re more prone to putting our foot in our mouths during Mercury’s retrograde in this sign. We need to be mindful of saying what we’re thinking without filtres, or we could create conflicts that linger well after the retrograde is over. Issues of honesty and intimacy may come up. Secrets and lies we’ve been trying to hide are exposed, or fallout from a previous deceit or betrayal. This retrograde offers a second chance to correct errors, reconnect with people, and absorb information that we didn’t get the first time around.

My dearest Taurus, YOU ARE IN PERIL !

You sit on the edge of transformation. Perhaps this edge feels perilous, scary, frightful, especially because it challenges the perceptions of how we’ve defined ourselves and think we know ourselves to be.

But the only danger is in your own self-judgement, self-doubt and self-criticism. It’s time to shake things up, to rock the boat. Past standards no longer apply as you are stronger and more powerful than you have ever been before !

Awareness has come, and can no longer be denied due to the strong light shining upon it, of how much how we see, think about, talk about and present ourselves to the world is so coloured and influenced by others (whether growing up, society, or yesterday’s interaction with the sales clerk that triggered an old, wounded part of ourselves) that when we catch, not just glimpses, but full on visions, of the potential we possess and who we’re here to be in this lifetime, we can recoil thinking, « That’s not me » or « I’m not ready » or « What would I have to sacrifice » or « Who would accept me as that. »

A new, evolutionary part of yourself, your life, your path or direction is opening. It may be surprising, uncomfortable, feel risky or dangerous.

Your energy, your power, your capabilities are growing, expanding, searching for the vision where they can have the freedom to unfold the wings of possibility and opportunity.

But it’s up to you to realise that you are more capable than you were in the past, you are not the same person you’ve been before. Step back into witness mode to objectively acknowledge, revel in and celebrate where you’ve come from. Old identities, beliefs about yourself and/or others, old habits or patterns of behaviour can not, and must not, survive this metamorphosis.

The power of your words, thoughts and actions have grown exponentially and are enhanced to the point that how you think, what you say, what you ask for can manifest quickly, powerfully, and with long-lasting effect. We can unintentionally create harm, obstacles, conflict when we don’t recognise and direct our energy, power and intentions appropriately. So the time has come to manage your power with greater wisdom … and to seek out the wisdom you need to do so.

You are in peril of missing the boat.

Let go. Move away. You’re already there. Step forth into your burgeoning power and into a future of wonder, amazingness, awesomeness where a new, stronger, more confident, empowered You resides and awaits.

GEMINI

Lance

Oswald Wirth Tarot, U.S. Games Systems Inc., 1997

Magician + 4 of Wands + Explorer of Cups

This season is marked by the Magician, a key card for understanding the subtle relationships and connections between that are not clearly perceived. How do we do magic? How much of serendipity, good luck and fortune are the results of randomness, the divine, external social structures or unconscious behavior? The Magician holds our ability to leverage relationships and causes in favor of our will.

The Four of Wands leads us to seek out the connections that leave us enriched and warm. Stabilized fire energy is right relationship. This season look into what this phrase means for you personally as well as socially. Reflecting on times when you were held and holding others as they were when you recognized the flaws, virtues, and mystery of those in your life and yourself. Cultivate the intention of right relationship in your life by ritually enacting them. Making physical what is not always apparent to the senses. For example, lighting four candles, each carved with the intent of right relationship in spirit, mind, heart, and body. As you sit with these four lights, you can appeal to your own divinity for guidance, clarity, and brightness in your daily interactions as you began leaning into this contemplation.

The Explorer of Cups is the part body that Gemini can consider through all of this. For many, it is easier to intellectualize, make into a story, give the details of the experiences that formed the emotional body. All the stuff that surrounds the heart and give it shape. Here is an opportunity to explore what it would be like to simply feel an emotion without the explanation. The Explorer of Cups is doing just that- feeling and testing out the ways to express them purely. Sometimes we just gush out all messy. Sometimes we hold so much back that we ache quietly. We don’t need a story to have our feelings validated. Try out being direct with your feelings this seasons, see where they are well received, and cultivate the heart connections.

CANCER

Saba

Eight Coins Tattoo Tarot by Lana Zellner (US Games)

This season brings for you growth, assurance, abundance and healing. This is the time where you can give birth to new ideas and if you continue to water them, they may surely blossom into beautiful flowers. Your creativity is going to be at its peak, so express it in a constructive and meaningful manner. You need to put your thoughts and plans into action. This is going to help you pass from one stage of growth to another. The risks you’re willing to take and the work you put in is going to pay off in the end.

The challenge that could come up for you this season is indecisiveness and defensiveness. This could be the result of some upsetting news or things not going as planned. However, consulting a professional advisor can assist you in making a sound decision. They can show you new perspectives and other side of the coin which you may not be able to view on your own. Make sure that you weigh matters carefully before entering into any agreement. Haste decisions may leave important initiatives unfinished therefore, be mindful.

Try to treat everyone fairly. Take into consideration the feelings of others before making any judgment and final decisions. Don’t come off as being too aggressive, controlling and domineering because that way things may become sour and stagnant. And don’t try to manage everything and everyone. Let others express and make use of their potential.  I feel that you may have to make a sacrifice to achieve a greater good. During such moments, step back, reflect and reevaluate your goals.

It’s time to create your own happiness and connect with your inner beauty. Some of you might be neglecting your own needs so get in touch with your sensuality, be kind to yourself and love yourself. Spending time in nature is going to uplift and relax you. Either you or someone close to you may be pregnant or planning to start a family.

Focus for Scorpio season needs to be leadership, courage, creation and nurturance.

LEO

Siobhan

The Voyager Tarot,  Wanless,  Fair Winds Press 2017

In this card pull Leos share a theme card. But each of the three kinds of Leos, those born at the first decan or the first ten degrees of the sign, sorta like the first ten days, those born at the second ten and the third each have a card for how to work with this theme. Don’t know what decan you are? Here’s a decan calculator. What do you think of this format?

The only journey is the one within.

— Rainer Maria Rilke

Theme | 3 of Wands

How to work it |

Decan 1 – Ace of Cups
Decan 2 – 7 of Cups
Decan 3 – 3 of Crystals

Leos, a journey awaits; a feast of the senses. You receive an invitation to play with the world around you. It’s your kind of season ahead, full of mystery and sights that are easy on the eyes and heart… for the most part.

It’s just like when we travel. Carried by the expectations of the fun ahead, we almost don’t notice the long flights, the jetlag, the fights with loved ones on the way. Struggle seems worth it to us when we know we’re going somewhere new. So it will be this month. Leos will push forward in search of a promise of fulfillment, and they will explore.

First decan Leo friends, the exploratory theme above manifests for you as emotional blossoming. Change allows space for your feelings in a way you find invigorating and maybe even a little uncomfortable. Satisfying as it may be to do exactly what you want, it’s also frightening, yes?

Change and satisfaction both illuminate parts of you that might have been previously dormant. What will you learn about yourself through the lens of satisfaction? Do you have the discipline (and/or groundedness) to remain aware even as you float into a very joyous place?

Most don’t think of happiness as something to manage but “happiness,” is formed in the same way that despair is, by beliefs that we are often too distracted to own or question. Some of which we outgrow without noticing…

Second decan Leo friends, how is Venus retrograde in Scorpio treating you? I’d gather it’s been bittersweet from this card. In your case, the tension from the first decan Leos is taken up a notch. Something stalls you. There was a point in the past, perhaps before Venus started to turn away from us a few weeks ago, where you needed to make a decision, set an intention, or check in with yourself.

Maybe at the time, you felt overrun with challenges (or opportunities) and in the mayhem lost sight of your “big why?” Why or what did you want to explore at the start of this season? Who are you really? It may be tempting to forget questions like these as they threaten to overwhelm.

It might seem easier to lose yourself in a cornucopia of distraction. If you stay small enough you can’t be held responsible. If you are confused, there’s less risk. Easy is not for the best. Make decisions now that you won’t regret when your energy returns this season…

Third decan Leo friends, be ready to dig deep. Your journey is like one into a desert. To most, a desert appears to be desolate at best and hostile at worst. Not many know where the treasure is in such a landscape. It’s perfectly valid to feel vexed when challenged, hungry, or lacking resources.

When reality is tough we toughen ourselves to persist. Trust yourself to be large enough to contain more than the disturbance that this season may afford you. Trust your resiliency because it will be tested.

If you do, you will be rewarded with the “desert power” of the creative, able to take adversity further and farther than even those who were blessed with “good fortune.”

Leo folks, your season is filled with sumptuous themes. Passion abounds, how will you weather it?

VIRGO

ChosenEyes

The Witches Tarot By Ellen Cannon Reed 1989, Hendrick’s Playing Cards 2012

The Fool, 8 of clubs (rain, rain go away!), Ace of spades (tonic), and 4 of diamonds (titillatingly tight!)

To My Beautiful Bearers of Wheat,

It is true: you reap what you sew, and you my dears have sewn QUITE the crop(s) for yourself this season! In fact, you almost don’t believe it’s meant for you, right? Your hard word, CALCULATED RISKS (oh how Virgo of you, lol), sacrifice, steadfastness and willingness to see the big picture have catapulted you to the top – Yes! You’ve COMPLETELY outdone yourselves this time, loves – bask in it! Your willingness to serve others while fulfilling and nourishing your dreams should prove that cooperation/collaboration rather than martyrdom are building blocks for a solid foundation and longevity. However! Could it be that all the recognition for a job well done could be a little harder to handle than you imagined? As success soars and stability sky-rockets make sure that the loneliness/isolation you’re feeling isn’t self-imposed punishment due to the guilt of accomplishment rather than people actually abandoning you out of jealousy. You are what you think, after all.

Be sure that a need to orchestrate does not come back to bite you in the form of a beautifully gilded cage and self-made prison. That said, be judicious with whom you take refuge, seek advice, heed and take pleasure as it will help you better understand the difference between paranoia and discernment. This level of restriction can create unwanted stagnation and foster ill tempers that will prove quite disruptive to your upward trajectory. Remember your endgame, your Why. That should be what propels you rather than a need to prove something to the masses as the latter has the propensity to be counterproductive in the end. Patience, openness to change and positive self-talk are your allies for the moment; seize them! You’re beautiful, you’ve earned this – go for it! #keepyourgazesforward

LIBRA

Dee

The Linestrider Tarot, 2016, Llewellyn

What would you do at this moment if you saw all of the blessings you’ve been asking for falling upon you? Would you be ready? Would you be prepared? These are serious questions that you need to meditate on because that’s exactly what’s happening to you right now Libra, be it in the way you envisioned or not.

You may be unsure as to how you can receive this gift without questioning if you’re the intended recipient. Now is not the time to be hyperfocused on why the abundance is being showered upon you; it’s the time to simply take it all in and acknowledge that you are worthy. Receiving overabundance in any arena of your life requires preparation and a match of pace by putting yourself in order, setting boundaries and allowing yourself to be the best possible guardian of the goodness that’s come in.

Vision and clarity are huge gifts for you at this time. Allow the becoming of the moment to set the pace for this season of your life. If things move fast, you move right along with it– be decisive, be confident, be ready. If they move slow but with huge yield, use this time to enjoy the process. With blessings comes the unveiling of a new side of yourself. For you, there are second chances in this season. For you, there is the opportunity to recreate yourself until you’ve grown to where you aspire. During this season, we see you experiencing epiphanies and revelations that are going to revolutionize and absolutely rock your world. Are you prepared for it?

There is also a calling on you at this time, Libra… and whatever it is, you are to answer. While Venus is still retrograde, it is important that you give proper consideration to your response. You are afforded the time to think and decide how you want to move forward on what’s revealed to you. Not too fast, not to slow. Ensure that you’re checking in with yourself consistently and that you’re paying attention to the work that you are doing. Do not allow complications or setbacks to cause you to lose sight of the vision that has been set forth before you. Trust yourself and the voice that says this is what you’re meant to do. You would not have the vision if it was not meant for you specifically to bring it through to fruition. Seek out the advice of others and try not make decisions that lead to your detriment. Measure twice, cut once and don’t squander your blessings.

SCORPIO

Ashley

Antique Anatomy Tarot Ephemera Edition  2018, Oracle of Oddities  2017
Both by Black and the Moon

The Hierophant + Six of Blades + Manifest

Finally, the dark season. The stepping-into-the-underworld season. We are brilliant at this part, aren’t we? The dive down, the wading through the muck and yuck. I sat with my favorite decks created by Black and the Moon (one of the most Scorpio names, yes?) and asked what we need to focus on for ourselves. Let’s dive right in with our Oracle card first: Manifest.

Manifest kept jumping out. It was the first card, and I thought that couldn’t possibly be it because it was way to easy, so I put it back. And it came up again. Manifest: to display or show by one’s acts or appearance. What actions do we need to take? Where are you feeling the need to show up, to appear? Maybe it’s showing up for your practice, your job, your relationships. As we step into our season, set up a mini altar to tend to and show up to every day. If you don’t have any clue what is supposed to be manifesting right now, that’s fine. Showing up is important, especially if it’s for ourselves.

The Hierophant and the Six of Blades (swords) are our support cards.

When The Hierophant came up as a support card, I really wanted to put it back. I tried. But then had to bring it back out. Are we sensing a theme here for Scorpio season? Trust your gut. Trust your first instinct. The Hierophant is not typically associated with instincts or deep self-trust, most often they are here for deep discipline, strong faith, maybe even devout practice to tradition. But this time they are showing us a different side. The side of trusting and having faith in Self, in Source, in Spirit. How we all connect.

The Six of Blades allows, and in fact, suggests, the best thing to do is let go of expectations. Let go of “having to find something” because we know we always do. Scorpios are the great seekers, obsessive and passionate about finding meaning. Don’t get caught up in the meaning itself this time, just the journey being taken. The devotion to manifesting, to trusting Self and Source. This journey is important for this next turn of the astrological wheel.

SAGITTARIUS

Nic

Smith-Waite (US Games, 1971)
Next World Tarot (Cristy C. Road, 2017)

At the beginning of the season, the Queen of Wands Reversed suggests that there might be feelings of low self worth coupled with disbelief that you have anything of substance to offer. Have you ever felt trapped in #impostersyndrome? Sometimes you need to try on different masks and costumes until you find the one that works. This is a time about remembering that most of us have been made to feel like our authentic self wasn’t allowed to come forward, let alone shine. With the Seven of Swords, becoming who you are can feel dangerous and beg the question, “is this really me or is this just who I think I am?” Remember Sag, you can’t rush becoming, you can’t rush becoming who you are.

A few weeks ago someone said to me, “let’s wonder curiously and curiously wonder” which, in my opinion, is the essence of the Page of Pentacles’ divine message. This Page is your guidepost for slow inquiries and slow intuitions throughout the season.

When Suspension appears in Reverse you can assume that the pressure to embody patience is calling. You might feel really resistant to taking time out, but no matter how hard you beg and try to manage a situation, it’s not go time. Ace of Wands Reversed confirms that this is a time to acknowledge irritability and not force pushing through, this is a really gorgeous opportunity to let the hard feelings come up. Sometimes when things aren’t working to our pleasure, it’s actually an arrow for us to see what we truly want, or rather, don’t want.

Sagittarius friends, this is a time of re-considering, re-writing, and evolving from old, dense belief systems. This isn’t about thinking positive thoughts to bypass your true feelings, it’s about giving your hardest feelings their chance to be heard. With the Five of Pentacles Reversed, it feels like you’re going to be able to see your own (incredible! perfect!) worth clearer. The things you add to this world, the importance of your being, the strength you have to survive when everything around you might feel bleak.

The Knight of Swords isn’t necessarily gentle in the way they move, but this energy is about getting out of the static and into the bustle. The tender feelings of grief might still cause aches, but the important part is that you’re acknowledging why those myths were there in the first place: to keep yourself small, a form of protection. After the agitation of Suspension Reversed, the dynamic action of the Knight of Swords accelerates down pathways of truth where the self isn’t censored and instead is free to move in ways that feel empowering.

CAPRICORN

Gina

Marshmallow Marseille, Wandering Oracle 2018.

You’re entering into Scorpio season feeling uncharacteristically stuck and stymied my dear Capricorn. Mulling things over excessively has backed you into a corner. You’re detached from the usual movement and inspiration that makes you feel alive, well, and on top of things. Luckily for you, you’re the one who’s brought yourself to this place, and you’re the one who can get out of it.

Over-thinking, it turns out, has sucked some joy out of the path you’ve been going down, and what’s more, it’s also blocked an important realization from view. Self-criticism and perfectionism are preventing you from seeing just how much you’ve accomplished. Take the time to reassess what seems difficult. What have you accomplished so far? What new skills have you been practicing? How might this situation be a celebration at the finish line instead of a dead-end? You might actually be finished with this project and ready for something new.

The Knight of Wands is bursting onto the scene signifying the return of your verve and drive. It’s a time for action and movement, not processing and adjusting. Bigger adventures are calling out for you, and you’re more than ready to take them on.

This is a wonderful time of motivation, zest, and creativity where you can really get things done and feel delightfully alive amidst all the action. Allow yourself to think big and embrace challenges. You don’t need to know everything before you start (this approach leads you to dead-ends and despair, as we can see in the Nine of Swords.) Staying light on your feet and learning by doing will take you to exciting places fast.

So fast that it might seem like a little much at times. The Five of Wands sees you riding into the thick of a new project, one that’s requiring all your smarts, innovation, and determination. Staying in the moment is key here, and you can think back to that sludgy feeling of being stuck in your head to get perspective. Because you flourish in challenges, dear Capricorn, and this fiery period of action is calling on the best parts of yourself.

Dive into the fray, enjoy the ride, and see just how much you can accomplish.

Dear Aquarius, Scorpio season is asking for you to shed any notion that you live your life for others. There is no time to be at the mercy of other people’s ideas of how you should live your life. A fire has been lit in the center of your soul and it’s ready to grow.

It’s possible in the months that have passed that you’ve worked hard to reach a level of success only to realize that you didn’t do it for yourself. The journey to the top was important. Along the way you learned about your inner strength, ability to stay focused despite others attempts to distract you, and that you have high expectations and demand others do too. Now it’s time to use all that energy in service to yourself and your own higher vision.

This month is about standing your ground. Look ahead. There’s no time to look back. You are poised at the top of a metaphorical mountain that represents finally reaching a place where you can see beyond to a bigger planet of ideas waiting for you. You are ready for expansion in all realms of your life. No more settling for you – not settling for people’s poor behavior, for unfulfilling work, or a life that has become all work without the things and experiences that feed your soul. You are done longing for something else. You are ready to take action.

Your allies this month are Seven of Wands, Three of Wands and Five of Wands. That’s a whole lotta fire! Let there be no question that you are on a mission to do right by your spirit.

The Seven of Wands is asking you to lift your head up and see that you made it up the mountain. You did it yourself. With every obstacle behind you, with any bruises you got along the way, recognize that you made it using your inner strength. You are a fighter. And now instead of fighting against others, you want to fight for what is meaningful to you.

The Three of Wands is the creative spark you need this month to expand your vision of what’s possible. See the road ahead and start to decorate it with signs and stops that you will need to carry you the distance. Whatever you do, don’t avert your eyes. Sustain your vision and trust that you are unstoppable.

The Five of Wands is the stern advice to not to get caught up in other people’s opinions, perspectives and advice. Trust yourself. Remember, you made it to the top of the mountain before. You don’t need anyone’s interference at this time. If someone crosses you, know that defiance and pivoting away can sometimes be acts of self-love.

Dear Aquarius, now is the time to see a larger vision and take note of what steps you need to take and what resources, inner and outer, you need to achieve that vision. Most importantly, identify the boundaries you need in place to limit distractions and unnecessary detours. Everyone in your circle will not likely meet your vision with acceptance. Expect to encounter some conflict. You are ready to stand your ground and let people know that your vision is your own and it’s your priority. They can either be of support or get out of the way. Be the unstoppable idealistic beast we know you are!

Dear Pisces,

Healing yourself, heals your Ancestors. Healing your Ancestors, heals the world. This season you’re focused on working your MEDICINE. This feels like on current symptoms, and also by bridging them to juxtaposed experiences that rooted at an earlier age. A part of this feels like finding the “cure” in your childhood or adolescence as well – having recurring memories or feelings from then that remind you of when and why you were at your happiest. So, there is something from your past that can aid what ails you now. A disclaimer is that this “cure” is what you may presently view as the problem.

For example, let’s say you had one of the best romances of your life when you were a teenager. You see it as isolated and have kind of tucked it away. Presently, maybe you don’t feel that you’re capable of loving like that again or that that kind of love is possible again…Or maybe you feel that you’ve only failed at love since then and have closed off your heart in a way. You see? Those things are two sides of the same coin. Those things are connected. Those things are both the disease and the cure. So, be open to what you come to know as your own personal “rose and thorn”. Once you do, you’ll be able to transmute it, free yourself from it, and become a “wounded healer” for others like you. In order to do this, you’ll NEED to be brutally honest with yourself, admit aloud your true feelings about the past, the present, and what you want for your future, and allow yourself to cry. Let the tears come and go if and when they need to.

Once the feelings start floating to the surface, a good outlet or channel will be in WRITING. This will likely revolve around something you thought you had resolved or reached an acceptance about. So, again, don’t beat yourself up or deny what you feel. Even if you have to self-justify by writing: I don’t know why this is coming up, I haven’t thought about this in years, I don’t even want that anymore… Don’t judge yourself. Just let it be what it is. (Side Note: These are also things likely to have been experienced by your mother or other women in your life. Babalú-Ayé, Olofi, and Olodumare are good research points for this time.)
